After last week’s “Grilled Cheesus” episode, which was an emotional rollercoaster for the show’s characters and the audience, last night’s episode seemed like a bit of a let down. Maybe it was the lack of Sue Sylvester or the fact that there were only duets (hence the title of the episode) but last night’s episode just didn’t live up to the week before.
Kurt, who has been taking care of his recovering father, develops a crush on Sam (Chord Overstreet). Gleeks have been speculating for weeks that Sam and Kurt would begin dating but as it turns out, Kurt’s hunch was wrong and Sam isn’t gay.
Instead, Sam has his own crush, on singing partner Quinn. Despite some mixed signals on Quinn’s part, the two ended on a high note after a rendition of Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat’s “Lucky.”
Meanwhile, Puck lands himself in juvie leaving Santana and Brittany alone to entertain themselves, which ended up leading to them making out. Brittany realized she had feelings for Santana but when those feelings weren’t returned, she turned to Artie. The two end up doing it, even though Artie still has feeling for Tina too.
Mike and Tina, who are having trouble, performed “Sing!” from “A Chorus Line” to repair their relationship. And New Directions’ longest-running couple, Rachel and Finn, decided to throw the competition, thanks to their take on “With You I’m Born Again” by Billy Preston and Syreeta Wright.
What did you think of last night’s show?
