ABC’s Modern Family, Fox’s Glee and HBO’s In Treatment all won Peabody Awards today. The George Foster Peabody Awards, under the guidance of the University of Georgia’s journalism department, recognize the achievement and public service by TV and radio stations, networks, producing organizations, individuals and the World Wide Web.
“Our selections demonstrate that great work available in 2009 varied widely and appealed to viewers and listeners with very different tastes, interests and concerns,” said Horace Newcomb, who is the director of the Peabody Awards.
Newcomb announced 36 winners in carious categories today though the awards ceremony won’t take place until May 17. Diane Sawyer will host the event in New York City.
